An AI course creator does one of two jobs: it drafts a course you then export to a company LMS (as a SCORM package), or it hosts and sells the course for you. In October 2026, the cheapest SCORM export is Coursebox Creator at €30 a month, or €25 billed yearly (euros displayed from Europe), and a package that keeps working after you cancel starts on Coursebox Pro. To sell a course, the lowest entry price is LearnWorlds Starter at $24 a month billed yearly, plus $5 per paid enrollment; Thinkific Basic, at $40, charges no fee through its own payments. Calculated from official pages checked Oct. 8, 2026, selling 100 copies of a course at $99 costs between €300 (Coursebox Creator, billed in euros) and $1,716 (Kajabi Basic) in subscription and platform fees in the first year.

The quality of the generated lessons isn’t scored here: this page compares prices, what the AI does, export formats and fees.

Which AI course creator should you choose?

  • Exporting to your LMS on the smallest budget: Coursebox Creator, with dynamic SCORM (it stops working if you cancel).
  • A SCORM package documented as surviving cancellation: Coursebox Pro, at €90 for a single month.
  • Short AI courses you sell yourself, then SCORM later: Mini Course Generator, Plus to sell, Pro for SCORM.
  • An instructional design team: Articulate 360 AI, with SCORM, xAPI and cmi5.
  • Selling on the lowest subscription: LearnWorlds Starter, below 36 paid enrollments a year ((468 − 288) ÷ 5); beyond that, Mini Course Generator Plus costs less.
  • Selling with 0% fees from the entry plan: Thinkific Basic on Thinkific Payments.
  • One subscription for courses, email and website: Kajabi.
  • Video lessons with an AI presenter: Synthesia or Colossyan, covered in their own section.

Export a course or sell it: two different jobs

SCORM is the format that lets a course run inside an LMS (the learning platform of a company or school) and report completion or scores. A dynamic SCORM package is a small file that loads the course from the vendor’s servers, so it stops working when the subscription ends; a standalone package contains the course itself. Coursebox’s pricing page states this difference plainly for its two exports (checked Oct. 8, 2026).

Course platforms such as LearnWorlds, Teachable, Thinkific and Kajabi work the other way round: learners come to your site, and the platform handles the checkout. LearnWorlds (from Pro Trainer) and Thinkific Plus can play SCORM packages made elsewhere, but none of their pricing pages offers to export one.

How much does a SCORM export cost?

This table is a calculation. Assumption: one author builds a 10-lesson course in one month, within the plan’s AI allowance, and an LMS already exists. Labor, taxes and LMS fees are excluded. Prices from the official pages on Oct. 8, 2026.

Tool and planMonthlyBilled yearlyWhat you export12 months in your LMS
Coursebox Creator€30€300 (€25 a month)Dynamic SCORM: needs an active plan€300 yearly, €360 monthly
Coursebox Pro€90€900 (€75 a month)Standalone SCORM, minus live features€90: one month, then cancel
Mini Course Generator Pro$99$948 ($79 a month)Dynamic SCORM$948 if the plan must stay active (not stated)
Articulate 360 AI PersonalNot shown$1,449 a yearSCORM, xAPI or cmi5 package$1,449
Easygenerator ProNot shown$1,499 ($125 a month)SCORM 1.2/2004 file or xAPI$1,499
  • Coursebox shows euros from Europe; its page code lists the entry offer at “30” USD, which matches Creator, but no US checkout price could be displayed.
  • Coursebox Pro’s standalone package leaves out the AI tutor, listen mode, short-answer questions, assignments and discussions.
  • Mini Course Generator contradicts itself: the plan table reserves “Export to Dynamic SCORM” for Pro, while its FAQ says you can export “SCORM packages at any time” whatever your subscription status. Ask before counting on a single month.

How much does it cost to sell a 10-lesson course?

Another calculation: one course sold 100 times at $99 in the first year ($9,900), yearly billing, sales through the platform’s own checkout. Card processing is excluded because every platform passes it on (Teachable lists 2.9% + 30¢ for US cards), and so is sales tax.

Tool and planYearly subscriptionPlatform fee on 100 salesFirst-year platform cost
Mini Course Generator Plus$468$0$468, capped at 500 learners a year
Thinkific Basic$480$0 on Thinkific Payments, $495 via Stripe$480, or $975 via Stripe
LearnWorlds Starter$288$500 ($5 × 100)$788
Teachable Builder$828$0$828
LearnWorlds Pro Trainer$948$0$948
Teachable Starter$348$742.50 (7.5% × $9,900)$1,090.50
Kajabi Basic$1,716$0$1,716
Coursebox Creator€300€0 (30% on the free plan)€300

  • Where the cheaper plan stops being cheaper: LearnWorlds Pro Trainer costs $660 more a year than Starter, the fee on 132 paid enrollments ($660 ÷ $5). Teachable Builder costs $480 more than Starter, the 7.5% fee on $6,400 of sales ($480 ÷ 0.075).
  • Thinkific’s US prices come from an archived copy of its pricing page dated Oct. 5, 2026, because the live page shows euros from Europe (€39 a month billed yearly for Basic).
Teachable's Starter, Builder and Growth plans billed yearly: $29, $69 and $139 a month, with the Starter plan listing a 7.5% transaction fee and Builder and Growth a 0% transaction fee

Teachable’s pricing page, yearly billing shown by default, screenshot taken Oct. 8, 2026. The 7.5% and 0% lines show the fee Teachable keeps on every sale.

SCORM authoring tools for building and exporting a course

1. Coursebox – SCORM export from the entry plan

Coursebox turns documents or a prompt into a course with lesson pages, quizzes, scenarios and an AI tutor, then publishes it on its own portal or exports it.

Entry price. Creator at €30 a month or €300 a year, Pro at €90 or €900, Pro + LMS at €270 or €2,700, one admin seat each (pricing, displayed in euros from France, checked Oct. 8, 2026).

What the AI includes. Creator gets 500 AI page credits a month, which Coursebox estimates at “~10 courses a month,” plus 60 minutes of AI video a year on yearly billing. Translation works page by page through the AI editor (help center).

Free plan. Three mini courses of up to five pages, with a Coursebox watermark and no export; selling is possible, with a 30% commission.

Limits. Monthly subscriptions for your learners start on Pro. The budget, the two SCORM modes and what disappears after cancellation are detailed in the Coursebox guide.

Coursebox's plans with monthly billing: Free at €0 with three mini courses, Creator at €30 a month with "Export: PDF, HTML & SCORM", and Pro + LMS at €270 with "Export: self-hosted SCORM & LTI", next to a Pro tab at €90

Coursebox’s pricing page with monthly billing, displayed in euros from France, screenshot taken Oct. 8, 2026. Creator’s SCORM is the dynamic kind; the self-hosted export appears from the Pro tab.

2. Articulate 360 AI – a suite for instructional designers

Articulate 360 AI bundles Rise and Storyline, the two authoring tools many corporate training teams already use, with AI that drafts complete courses from a prompt or source files.

Entry price. $1,449 a year for Personal, $1,749 per seat a year for Teams, which adds collaboration and, per the FAQ, the Reach LMS for 300 active learners a year, although the Personal card also lists Reach (checked Oct. 8, 2026). No monthly price is shown; regional resellers bill in local currencies.

What counts. Course drafting and the AI tutor are included. Translation into 80+ languages and AI avatars use credits, sold from $250 for 50,000; they expire at the end of the subscription.

Export. SCORM, xAPI or cmi5 packages for any LMS. On Teams, Rise courses can also be published straight to Thinkific Plus as SCORM 2004 (Thinkific).

Trial. 14 days, with credits to test the advanced workflows.

3. Easygenerator – SCORM files on Pro, AI on every plan

Easygenerator is built for in-house experts who aren’t instructional designers: its EasyAI agent proposes a structure, writes pages, adds quizzes and interactions, and checks tone.

Entry price. Pro at $1,499 billed yearly ($125 a month) for 1 author, 10 courses and 100 learners; Team at $7,495 a year ($625 a month) from 5 authors (checked Oct. 8, 2026).

Export. On Pro, SCORM 1.2 or 2004 files and xAPI; dynamic SCORM and native LMS integrations start on Team, per the plan comparison (SCORM page).

Trial. 14 days, then the account switches to a free plan with premium features disabled.

Limit. EasyTranslate (75 languages, one multilingual SCORM package) is an add-on whose price isn’t published.

4. Mini Course Generator – selling from Plus, SCORM on Pro

Mini Course Generator, run by KnowUp Edtech Limited in London, builds short courses from a topic or a YouTube video, with quizzes, images, games and AI voice-over.

Entry price. Plus at $49 a month or $39 billed yearly, with 1,000 AI credits a month, paid courses and a custom domain; Pro at $99 or $79, adding dynamic SCORM export, AI translation and certificates (checked Oct. 8, 2026).

What counts. Learners: 500 a year on Plus, 1,000 on Pro. Translating a collection into one of 30+ languages costs 5 credits per page (help center).

Trial. 14 days of full access, no card required; no permanent free plan. No commission on your sales.

Limit. The SCORM contradiction noted above.

Platforms for hosting and selling a course

5. LearnWorlds – the lowest entry price, plus $5 per sale

LearnWorlds hosts the course, the website and the checkout; its AI builds outlines, assessments, ebooks and pages from material you upload (AI features).

Entry price. Starter at $29 a month or $24 billed yearly, with 300 AI credits a month and a $5 fee per paid enrollment; Pro Trainer at $99 or $79, with no fee (checked Oct. 8, 2026). Prices exclude VAT.

What Starter leaves out. AI subtitles and translation, SCORM uploads and certificates, all from Pro Trainer.

Trial. 30 days.

Limit. Starter sells through your own Stripe or PayPal account, whose processing fees are added (the FAQ cites 2.9% + $0.30).

6. Teachable – 7.5% on Starter, 0% from Builder

Teachable sells courses, coaching and downloads, and handles sales tax for you. Its AI generates an outline from a 1–1,000-character description on any plan (curriculum generator), and, per its 2023 announcement, quizzes from text lessons.

Entry price. Starter at $39 a month or $29 billed yearly, for 5 products and a 7.5% transaction fee; Builder at $89 or $69, for 10 products and 0% (checked Oct. 8, 2026).

Trial. 7 days, plus a 30-day money-back guarantee; no free plan.

Limit. Subtitles and translations appear in the plan list only on Growth ($189, or $139 billed yearly).

7. Thinkific – no fee on Thinkific Payments

Thinkific hosts courses, communities and downloads. Its AI outline generator creates chapter and lesson titles only, so the content is yours to add (help center); its quiz generator works on all paid plans.

Entry price. Basic at $54 a month or $40 billed yearly, Start at $109 or $82 (US prices on the archived page cited above).

Fees. None through Thinkific Payments; through Stripe, a 5% fee on Basic, 2% on Start and 1% on Grow, on the first $1 million of yearly sales.

Trial. 30 days; no free plan.

Limit. SCORM, learning paths and the Thinker AI tutor are on Plus, priced on request.

8. Kajabi – no revenue share, highest entry price

Kajabi combines courses, website, email, community and checkout, and takes no cut of sales.

Entry price. Basic at $179 a month or $143 billed yearly ($1,716), with 2,500 contacts (checked Oct. 8, 2026). A countdown offer on the page was ignored.

What the AI does. The Cofounder assistant drafts course outlines, sales pages and emails, but can’t publish, build complete funnels or create images on its own (help center).

Trial. 14 days, plus a 30-day money-back guarantee.

Limit. No SCORM: Kajabi “does not support LMS formats like SCORM or HTML5 files” (help center).

Adding AI video lessons: Synthesia and Colossyan

The tools above build text-and-quiz courses; an avatar presenter is a separate job. Synthesia lists SCORM export and one-click translation in 140+ languages under Enterprise, while Pro adds interactive videos (pricing, checked Oct. 8, 2026); its plans and credits are in the Synthesia guide. Colossyan now pairs video with course building: its free Starter plan includes 20 minutes a month and unlimited course creation, and Professional ($59 a month billed yearly) adds five streaming SCORM exports a month (pricing), although its SCORM guide still reserves video exports for Enterprise.

The Synthesia vs. Colossyan comparison covers quizzes, branching and LMS reporting in detail. To reuse a recorded lesson in another language, see how to translate a video and keep your voice.

How this comparison was made

  • Sources: pricing pages, help centers and terms read on Oct. 8, 2026, without an account. Prices are those displayed in dollars; Coursebox (euros, no US price displayable) and Thinkific (US prices from an archive dated Oct. 5, 2026) are flagged where used.
  • Selection: tools that use AI to produce a full course (plan, lessons, quizzes) with a public price. Left out: 360Learning (an LMS priced per user, $8 a month on Team), Disco ($399 a month billed yearly, aimed at organizations) and video-only generators.
  • Order: by use (building and exporting, then hosting and selling), then by the lowest displayed price, excluding promotions, for the entry plan that does the job (SCORM export, or paid sales), billed yearly. Mini Course Generator’s terms couldn’t be found (its contact page names the operator), so it goes to the end of its group. It isn’t a quality ranking.
  • Affiliate links: Génie Artificiel is funded by affiliate commissions. It’s an affiliate of Coursebox and Synthesia, whose links are labeled; the other tools pay nothing. Coursebox ranks first because its SCORM plan is the cheapest, and the commission doesn’t influence the order.

FAQ

Which AI course creator exports to SCORM for free?

No permanent free plan includes it: Coursebox’s free plan has no export, and the others offer trials (14 days for Mini Course Generator, Articulate and Easygenerator). The pages don’t say whether a package exported during a trial keeps working.

Can I sell a course made with Articulate or Easygenerator?

Not directly: neither pricing page offers a checkout. Upload the SCORM package to a platform that plays it, such as LearnWorlds from Pro Trainer or Thinkific Plus.

Is Kajabi worth it for a first course?

At $1,716 a year it costs more than three times Thinkific Basic for the course alone. Kajabi itself says Basic suits experts who haven’t sold yet; the price includes email, website and community.
