This policy explains what data is processed when you visit genie-artificiel.com, why, by whom, and how to exercise your rights. Our principle: collect as little data as possible.

Hosting and technical logs

The site is hosted by Cloudflare, Inc. Like any hosting provider, Cloudflare receives the technical data needed to serve pages: IP address, browser, requested page, date and time of the request. This data is used to deliver pages, keep the site secure (protection against attacks and malicious bots) and troubleshoot incidents. For these security purposes, Cloudflare may set a strictly necessary technical cookie.

Legal basis: our legitimate interest in providing a working, secure website. Cloudflare acts as a processor; its privacy policy sets out how long these logs are kept.

Audience measurement

We measure traffic with Cloudflare Web Analytics. According to Cloudflare, this tool uses no storage in your browser (no cookies, no local storage) and does not identify visitors by “fingerprinting” their IP address, browser or any other data. It does not follow you from one site to another.

We only see aggregated statistics: number of visits and page views, pages viewed, referring sites, country, device type, browser, operating system and page load speed. They tell us which content is useful to you and help us improve the site.

Legal basis: our legitimate interest in understanding the site’s audience. This tool sets no cookies and is limited to anonymous statistics: we do not ask for your consent.

If you subscribe to our monthly newsletter, your email address is stored by beehiiv Inc., the sending platform we use, together with the date you subscribed and the page you subscribed from. beehiiv may also measure email opens and clicks on the links they contain, to produce sending statistics.

The sign-up form is provided by beehiiv. It only loads if you click the sign-up field: before that click, no request is sent to beehiiv. Once loaded, the form sends beehiiv technical connection data (IP address, browser). beehiiv also uses third-party services in it, including Google Tag Manager, Google Fonts and a bot-protection service (HUMAN Security), and may set cookies needed for the form to work securely.

YouTube videos

Some pages feature YouTube videos. Until you click a video, nothing is loaded from YouTube: the preview image is hosted on our own site.

When you click, the video loads from youtube-nocookie.com, YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode. Google may then receive connection data and store information in your browser, as described in its privacy policy.

Affiliate links

When you click an affiliate link, you first go through an address on our site starting with /go/, which immediately redirects you to the tool. This lets us count clicks anonymously: which tool, which page and which country (derived from the connection). We do not store your IP address and set no cookies.

This counter uses Cloudflare Analytics Engine. It stores the tool, the referring page path when supplied by your browser, the country and the time of the click for three months. URL parameters, IP addresses, browser details and individual identifiers are not recorded in this counter. Totals by page and tool may be exported to track the site’s performance beyond that period. Technical test clicks are kept separate from audience statistics.

Once on the partner’s website, the partner may set its own cookies, in particular to attribute a possible commission. These are governed by the partner’s own privacy policy.

Contacting us by email

If you write to contact@genie-artificiel.com, we process your email address, your name if it appears and the content of your message, solely to reply to you and follow up on your request.

Retention: 2 years from our last exchange.

What stays in your browser

Light or dark theme: if you switch themes, your choice is saved in your browser’s local storage. This information never leaves your device.
Search: the site search runs in your browser. We do not record your searches.
Fonts: they are hosted on our own site. No request is sent to a third-party font service.

Recipients and transfers outside the European Union

Your data is never sold or rented. It is only accessible to the site’s publisher and to the providers listed above, for the purposes described.

Cloudflare, beehiiv and Google (for YouTube videos) are companies based in the United States, so some data may be transferred outside the European Union. These transfers are covered by the safeguards provided for by the GDPR, depending on the provider: the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or standard contractual clauses adopted by the European Commission.

Security

Encryption: every page is served over HTTPS.
Static site: the site has no visitor database and no user accounts.
Restricted access: only authorised people can access the inbox and the newsletter tool.

Your rights

Under the GDPR and the French Data Protection Act, you have the following rights over your personal data:

Right of access: obtain a copy of the data we hold about you.
Right to rectification: have inaccurate or incomplete data corrected.
Right to erasure: ask for your data to be deleted in the cases provided for by law.
Right to restriction of processing: ask us to temporarily stop using your data.
Right to object: object to processing based on our legitimate interest.
Right to data portability: receive the data you gave us in a reusable format.
Withdrawing consent: unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time.
Post-mortem instructions: decide what happens to your data after your death.

If you believe your rights have not been respected, you can lodge a complaint with the CNIL, the French data protection authority, at cnil.fr, or with the supervisory authority of your country.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy, for example if we change tools or providers. The date of the last update appears at the top of this page.
