Seedance 2.5, ByteDance’s video model, is officially available in Dreamina and CapCut with a paid subscription, though CapCut’s rollout announcement didn’t list the U.S. Third-party platforms (Higgsfield, PixVerse, Pollo AI, Runway) resell it, and API providers (BytePlus ModelArk, Replicate, fal) offer it pay-as-you-go. If you only want Seedance, Dreamina is the cheapest way in with a published rate: it advertises its U.S. Basic plan at $15 a month to “create with Seedance 2.5,” about $1.76 for a 5-second 720p clip; check that Seedance 2.5 appears in your model picker before paying. Runway Standard also starts at $15 a month and includes Seedance 2.5, but only Dreamina publishes what Seedance 2.5 costs in credits. Higgsfield charges a similar $1.72 per clip but starts at $49 a month. The official API comes to about $1.16 per clip, if you can write code.

This guide is based on each service’s pricing pages, announcements, terms of service and API documentation, checked Oct. 29, 2026 (from France; U.S. prices come from the providers’ own U.S. figures where they publish them). Per-clip costs are calculations, explained below. Higgsfield, PixVerse and Pollo AI have affiliate programs with this site: the call-to-action link to each one, in its own section, is an affiliate link and is labeled as such. All other links are direct, including sources published on higgsfield.ai and links to Dreamina, CapCut, BytePlus, Replicate, fal and Runway. The ranking doesn’t depend on those programs: Dreamina, which has no affiliate program, comes out ahead for Seedance on its own.

Promotions running on Oct. 29, 2026. Dreamina is advertising a $0.29 first month of Basic in the U.S. (98% off) and reduced Seedance 2.5 credit costs on Standard and higher plans from Oct. 27 to Nov. 6 (Dreamina pricing, Dreamina’s Seedance 2.5 pricing page). The math below uses regular prices.

Where Can You Use Seedance Officially?

ByteDance ships Seedance in its own apps: Dreamina, its AI creation site, and the CapCut video editor. The July 31, 2026 announcement calls Seedance 2.5 “ByteDance’s new video and audio model for products like CapCut” (CapCut announcement).

Dreamina: Plans, Credits and Cost per Second

Dreamina is the most direct route: you pick Seedance 2.5, 2.0, 2.0 Fast or 2.0 Mini in the video generator, and the credit cost depends on the model, resolution and length. According to the pricing breakdown Dreamina published on Oct. 27, 2026, Seedance 2.5 uses 37 credits per second at 720p, with or without a reference video; Seedance 2.0 uses 17, 2.0 Fast 8 and 2.0 Mini 5. The 1080p rate isn’t published there.

The same page puts the U.S. Basic plan at $15 a month for 1,575 credits (renewal price; the first month is $0.29 during the current promotion). Dreamina doesn’t publish its other U.S. plan prices outside the signed-in checkout. Seen from France on Oct. 29, 2026, the pricing page listed:

Plan (as shown from France)MonthlyAnnualCredits per month (France)Seedance 2.5 at 720p per month (calculated)
Basic€13.99€144.99/year (€86.99 the first year)1,361≈ 36 s, or 7 five-second clips
Standard€31€354.99/year (€212.99 the first year)3,336≈ 90 s
Advanced 7.5K€68€779/year (€389.50 the first year)7,483≈ 202 s
Ultra€450€5,195/year (€2,597.50 the first year)51,067≈ 1,380 s

Credit allowances differ by region (1,575 for U.S. Basic versus 1,361 in France). Every paid plan removes the Dreamina watermark from downloads and adds video extension, higher resolution and frame rates up to 60 fps.

What does a clip cost? Math: 5 seconds × 37 credits = 185 credits. At the U.S. Basic price ($15 for 1,575 credits), that’s about $1.76 for a 5-second 720p clip, or 8 clips a month. The same clip on Seedance 2.0 costs about $0.81 (85 credits). A 30-second Seedance 2.5 clip uses 1,110 credits, most of a Basic month.

What Seedance 2.5 adds in Dreamina. Clips up to 30 seconds, up to 180 seconds in the beta long-video mode, image, video and audio references, and editing a single moment or character without regenerating the whole clip (Dreamina’s Seedance 2.5 page, checked Oct. 29, 2026).

CapCut: Seedance Inside the Video Editor

In CapCut, Seedance powers the generation tools (Video Studio) and editing features: with Seedance 2.5 you can change a specific timestamp, character or element in a generated video (Seedance 2.5 announcement). Seen from France on Oct. 29, 2026, CapCut Pro cost €23.99 a month with 1,400 AI credits; the page advertises Seedance 2.5 “from $0.12/sec” for the first month of Pro but doesn’t publish credits per second, and it says displayed prices are “for reference only” until you sign in (CapCut pricing). The U.S. price wasn’t checked from the U.S. If you mostly want to generate with Seedance, Dreamina publishes clearer rates.

In China: Jimeng

In China, ByteDance offers Seedance 2.5 in its Jimeng (即梦) app, in Chinese and priced in yuan (on Oct. 29, 2026, Seedance 2.5 at 720p was shown “from ¥0.19 per second” on the most expensive plan, on promotion through Oct. 30). It targets the Chinese market, and access from outside China wasn’t checked. Dreamina and CapCut are the international versions.

Is Seedance 2.5 Available in the U.S.?

Seedance 2.0, yes: it reached the U.S. on April 7, 2026 (Seedance 2.0 announcement).

Seedance 2.5 is less clear-cut. CapCut’s July 31 announcement said it would roll out to subscriber accounts of people over 16 “across Europe, Asia, the Middle East and South America,” without the U.S. Dreamina’s Oct. 27 pricing page, however, sells a U.S. Basic offer to “create with Seedance 2.5,” and Higgsfield says Seedance 2.5 Draft Mode isn’t offered in the U.S. on the provider’s side (see our Higgsfield guide). Replicate and fal, both U.S. companies, offer Seedance 2.5 through their APIs. Before subscribing on Dreamina or CapCut, check that Seedance 2.5 appears in the model picker for your account.

Minimum age. Seedance 2.5 is limited to subscribers over 16, according to CapCut’s announcement. U.S. users of Dreamina are governed by separate U.S. terms of service, which weren’t reachable when this guide was checked. Pollo AI requires users to be 18 (Pollo AI terms).

Is Seedance Free?

Not in any lasting way, and Dreamina contradicts itself. Its pricing page mentions a free option “with available credits” without saying how many. Its Seedance 2.5 page promises “free daily credits to test Seedance 2.5,” while CapCut’s announcement limits Seedance 2.5 to subscribers, and the Oct. 27, 2026 pricing page says the earlier campaign with four free Seedance 2.5 generations over three days has ended (checked Oct. 29, 2026). Don’t count on free access to Seedance 2.5.

Free downloads carry the Dreamina watermark, which only paid plans remove. CapCut also announces invisible watermarks, C2PA Content Credentials and visible AI labels for content made with its models.

Elsewhere, free tiers don’t cover Seedance 2.5 either: Higgsfield includes it from Plus, PixVerse from Pro, and Pollo AI’s 20 free credits fall short of one clip (30 credits at 480p). The cheapest way to try it is Dreamina’s discounted first month of Basic, when it’s on offer.

Which Third-Party Platforms Offer Seedance 2.5?

These platforms resell Seedance alongside other models, each with its own credit pool. They mostly make sense if you want to compare several models on one project or use their own tools.

Higgsfield: Seedance 2.5 From Plus, Cinema Studio and MCP

Higgsfield has offered Seedance 2.5 since Aug. 6, 2026, with a Draft Mode (a cheaper 480p preview, not available in the U.S.) and Cinema Studio 4.0, a directing workspace built on Seedance 2.5 (camera body, lens, moves). Seedance 2.5 isn’t included in Starter ($15 a month for 200 credits in the U.S.): you need Plus, at $49 a month for 1,000 credits in the U.S. (Higgsfield’s pricing guide, Oct. 24, 2026, checked Oct. 29, 2026); seen from France, the pricing page commission showed €59 a month or €47 billed annually for 1,200 credits. Starter includes Seedance 2.0 Fast and 2.0 Mini.

A 5-second Seedance 2.5 clip costs 35 credits at 720p and 80 at 1080p, according to the same Oct. 24, 2026 pricing guide. That’s about $1.72 and $3.92 on monthly Plus (math: $49 ÷ 1,000 credits × credits per clip), or 28 five-second 720p clips a month. Higgsfield’s figures vary from page to page; details, temporary discounts and terms (training on your content, credits that don’t roll over) are in our Higgsfield guide.

PixVerse: Seedance 2.5 From Pro

PixVerse commission includes Seedance 2.5, Seedance 2.0 and 2.0 Fast & Mini from the Pro plan, $30 a month or $24 billed annually, with 6,000 credits every 30 days plus 60 a day; Standard ($10) doesn’t include third-party video models. Ultra ($149 a month billed annually) takes 20% off Seedance 2.5 (plans page, checked Oct. 29, 2026). The page doesn’t publish what Seedance 2.5 costs in credits; the editor shows it before each generation. Mind the rights: PixVerse’s terms of service, updated Oct. 29, 2026, allow commercial use on paid plans only for models PixVerse develops; for a third-party model such as Seedance, they defer to that model provider’s rules.

Pollo AI: Seedance 2.5 at 480p From Lite

Pollo AI commission charges 30 credits for 5 seconds of Seedance 2.5 at 480p: its pricing page counts 13 clips a month on Lite (€13 a month before tax, 400 credits, or €10.83 billed annually), 26 on Pro and 166 on Ultra (checked Oct. 29, 2026; the page only showed euros from France). That’s about €0.98 per 480p clip before tax (math: €13 ÷ 400 × 30); the 720p rate isn’t published. Seedance 2.0 at 720p costs 40 credits, about €1.30 before tax. Plan details and the refund policy are in our Pollo AI guide.

Runway, LTX Studio and Others

  • Runway: Seedance 2.5 is available on all paid plans at 480p, 720p and 1080p, up to 30 seconds (Runway’s Seedance 2.5 page). Standard costs $15 a month ($12 billed annually) for 625 credits; the pricing page lists only Seedance 2.0 Pro (160 credits per 4 seconds at 1080p), not Seedance 2.5 (Runway pricing, checked Oct. 29, 2026).
  • LTX Studio: Seedance 2.0 only, from the Standard plan (€35 a month or €28 billed annually, as shown from France); Seedance 2.5 wasn’t listed on the pricing page on Oct. 29, 2026.
  • OpenArt, Magnific and the other aggregators covered in our guide to where to use Kling and Hailuo also carry Seedance; their Seedance 2.5 rates weren’t rechecked here.

Does Seedance Have an API?

Yes. The official API runs on BytePlus ModelArk, ByteDance’s international cloud platform, which says Seedance 2.5 is “fully available” (BytePlus Seedance page). Billing is in tokens, based on the video’s length, resolution and frame rate (ModelArk pricing, updated Oct. 23, 2026, checked Oct. 29, 2026):

ProviderSeedance 2.5, 720pSeedance 2.5, 1080p5-second 720p clip (calculated)
BytePlus ModelArk (official)$10.70 per million tokens$11.70 per million (≈ $2.84 for 5 s, calculated)≈ $1.16
Replicate$0.2312 per second–$1.16
fal$21.40 per million ($0.0214 per 1,000)$23.40 per million (≈ $1.16 per second)$2.31

Math: a 5-second clip at 1280 × 720 and 24 fps comes to about 108,000 tokens under the formula BytePlus and fal publish; fal itself lists $2.31 for that clip, and its page describes Seedance 2.5 output as “up to 720p” while also publishing a 1080p rate. Without a video input, Replicate charges the same as the official API and fal twice as much. With a reference video, that video’s length is added to the token count (BytePlus then charges $6.40 per million tokens at 720p; Replicate charges $0.9676 per second). Seedance 2.0 costs $7 per million tokens on BytePlus, about $0.76 for 5 seconds at 720p. ModelArk bills only successful generations and also offers a 480p Draft mode.

The API suits developers and automated pipelines; for creators, Dreamina or CapCut are simpler.

How Much Does a 5-Second Seedance Clip Cost?

Summary of the math above for a 5-second clip (regular prices, checked Oct. 29, 2026). The plan shown is the cheapest one that includes Seedance 2.5.

WhereCheapest planSeedance 2.5, 720pSeedance 2.0, 720p

HiggsfieldPlus, $49/month≈ $1.72 (annual U.S. price not published)≈ $1.08 (22 credits; 30 per the Oct. 24 guide)
PixVersePro, $30/monthNot publishedNot published
Pollo AILite, €13/month before taxNot published (480p: ≈ €0.98)≈ €1.30
RunwayStandard, $15/month ($12 billed annually)Not published–
BytePlus (API)Pay as you go≈ $1.16≈ $0.76
Replicate (API)Pay as you go$1.16–
fal (API)Pay as you go$2.31–

Math: monthly price ÷ included credits × credits used by the clip, assuming you use the whole allowance. Sales tax is extra where it applies.

Three takeaways. For Seedance alone, Dreamina is the cheapest way in with a published rate ($15 versus $49 on Higgsfield). Dreamina and Runway both start at $15 a month; only Dreamina publishes what Seedance 2.5 costs in credits. Higgsfield is roughly even per clip: $1.72 versus $1.76 on monthly plans, before sales tax on both. Dreamina doesn’t publish a U.S. annual price, so annual billing can’t be compared. Higgsfield’s cheapest plan with Seedance 2.5 costs more than three times as much up front, and its credits are shared with every other model. The official API and Replicate are the cheapest per clip, with no subscription.

Can You Use Seedance Videos Commercially?

On Dreamina, it isn’t guaranteed. The international terms of service (Jan. 22, 2026) say the service is “generally provided for private, non-commercial use” and refer to additional terms for commercial use “if permitted.” U.S. users fall under separate U.S. terms, which weren’t reachable when this guide was checked. The FAQ on the pricing page doesn’t settle it either: commercial use depends on the terms, the content and the models involved. Under the international terms, you own your inputs and outputs but grant ByteDance (Bytedance Pte. Ltd., Singapore) a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide license to use them “for any purpose.” This isn’t legal advice: for an ad or client work, get your rights confirmed in writing.

Training. Dreamina’s international privacy policy (the version served for Europe, April 30, 2026) lists training and improving its machine learning models among its purposes. U.S. users may fall under a separate policy, which wasn’t checked.

On third-party platforms, their own terms apply: Higgsfield allows commercial use on paid plans but trains on your content (except Enterprise), PixVerse allows commercial use on paid plans only for its own models and defers to the model provider’s rules for Seedance, and Pollo AI lists commercial use as a paid-plan benefit. Through an API, the terms of BytePlus, Replicate or fal apply.

The copyright dispute. After Seedance 2.0 launched in China, videos showing copyrighted characters spread online. According to CNBC (Feb. 16, 2026), Disney sent ByteDance a cease-and-desist letter, the Motion Picture Association demanded it stop its “infringing activity,” and ByteDance said it would strengthen safeguards. The Seedance 2.5 announcement mentions technology designed to block unauthorized generation of intellectual property; that doesn’t shield you if you reproduce a protected character or brand.

Can You Use Seedance From ChatGPT or Claude?

Yes, through a third-party MCP connector or CapCut’s official plugin. Higgsfield includes Seedance 2.5 in its MCP server for Claude and ChatGPT: every generation is charged in credits at the standard rate (Higgsfield’s example is 70 credits for 10 seconds at 720p and 160 at 1080p), and full model access requires Plus. Runway also lists Seedance 2.5 among the models in its connector, which requires Pro or Max. Steps and costs: how to make AI videos in ChatGPT or Claude with MCP.

On ByteDance’s side, CapCut offers an official ChatGPT plugin (“CapCut × ChatGPT”) that creates and edits video drafts you can keep working on in CapCut, through what it calls a “CapCut MCP connection”; its product page doesn’t say which video model it uses or what it costs in credits (checked Oct. 29, 2026). Dreamina doesn’t document an MCP connector.

Dreamina or a Third-Party Platform?

Dreamina is the better choice if:

  • you only want Seedance: the cheapest entry plan with a published per-second credit rate, and every Seedance model (2.5, 2.0, Fast, Mini);
  • you want ByteDance’s own features: beta long-video mode up to 180 seconds, editing a single moment, and new releases first;
  • you already edit in CapCut: Seedance is built into the editor there, though its credit rates are less transparent.

A third-party platform makes sense if:

  • you compare several models (Seedance, Kling, Veo, MiniMax, Wan) on one subscription: Higgsfield, PixVerse, Pollo AI or Runway (from Standard, $15 a month, Seedance 2.5 credit cost not published);
  • you want Cinema Studio (camera and lens controls on Seedance 2.5) or to drive Seedance from Claude or ChatGPT: Higgsfield, or Runway for MCP;
  • you want lots of short 480p clips at a published cost: Pollo AI Lite (30 credits per 5-second clip, about €0.98 before tax, 13 clips a month).

The API is the right route for developers and automated production: BytePlus ModelArk or Replicate, at the same price.

Before paying anywhere, check that the plan includes Seedance 2.5 (Higgsfield Starter and PixVerse Standard don’t), that the credits cover your needs (one 30-second clip uses most of Dreamina Basic), and what commercial rights you get. FAQ

Where can I use Seedance 2.5?

Officially in Dreamina and CapCut with a paid plan; also on Higgsfield (from Plus), PixVerse (from Pro), Pollo AI and Runway, and through the APIs of BytePlus ModelArk, Replicate and fal.

Is Seedance 2.5 free?

Not in any lasting way. Dreamina mentions free credits without publishing the amount, but the official announcement limits Seedance 2.5 to subscribers, and the four-free-generations trial has ended (checked Oct. 29, 2026). Free videos carry a watermark.

How much does Seedance 2.5 cost?

On Dreamina, 37 credits per second at 720p, or about $1.76 for a 5-second clip on the $15 U.S. Basic plan. On Higgsfield, about $1.72 for the same clip on the $49 Plus plan. Through the API, about $1.16.

Is Seedance 2.5 cheaper on Higgsfield than on Dreamina?

About the same: $1.72 versus $1.76 for 5 seconds at 720p on monthly plans. But Higgsfield’s cheapest plan with Seedance 2.5 is $49 a month, versus $15 for Dreamina Basic. For Seedance alone, Dreamina costs less to start.

What’s the difference between Seedance 2.5 and Seedance 2.0?

Seedance 2.5 extends clips from 15 to 30 seconds, accepts up to 50 references and lets you edit part of a clip. It costs more than twice as many credits: 37 per second at 720p on Dreamina, versus 17 for Seedance 2.0.

Does Seedance have an API?

Yes: BytePlus ModelArk ($10.70 per million tokens at 720p, about $1.16 for 5 seconds), plus Replicate and fal. A Dreamina subscription and the API are billed separately.
